bulletThis web site is dedicated totally to land quality issues.  Information on The Sedimentation Pollution Control Act can be found here as well as information for contractors and the general public.  You will also find contact numbers and e-mail addresses for reporting problems and violations.

bulletThis web site is dedicated totally to water quality issues.  Here you will find information related to the Clean Water Act, water quality divisions, contact numbers for reporting problems and violations, and other helpful information relating to water quality.

bulletThe Division of Soil & Water Conservation is dedicated to protecting and conserving the state's soil and water resources.  The division delivers programs in non-point source management, cost share for agricultural best management practices, technical and engineering assistance, soil surveys, conservation easements, and environmental education.

bulletSAMAB is an organization that is dedicated to protecting the cultural and natural resources of the Southern Appalachians.  This site describes a lot of the projects that SAMAB and its partners are working on, including efforts to control exotic invasive species such as Oriental Bittersweet and Hemlock Woolly Adelgid.

bulletSE-EPPC is the one of the Southeast region's greatest resources on exotic invasive plants.  You can find information on the plants themselves, control and management of invasives, publications, and lots of other helpful information.

bullet Kentucky Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Field Guide (.pdf)
bulletThis comprehensive field guide was designed for the State of Kentucky, but the applications are very similar to the ones used in North Carolina.  This reference gives excellent diagrams and shows do's and don'ts for proper sediment control.  This site is highly recommended for contractors and landowners who are getting ready to start construction projects.
